The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), in collaboration with SMART Zambia Institute, has conducted a User Acceptance Testing (UAT) exercise for the revised Cash for Work Management Information System (CFWMIS) in Lavushimanda District.
Speaking during the official opening of the UAT rollout, the Council Secretary Jonas Mwendakawa described the CFWMIS as a critical digital solution designed to enhance transparency, accountability, efficiency, and accuracy in the administration of the Cash for Work Programme.
He said the rollout forms part of Governmentβs broader digital transformation agenda aimed at improving service delivery and ensuring that programme benefits reach intended beneficiaries efficiently and transparently.
Mr Mwendakawa noted that significant progress has already been made towards the deployment of the system.
“The UAT exercise seeks to equip ICT personnel and key stakeholders across the country with the technical and operational competencies required to effectively support, manage, and sustain the system ahead of the nationwide deployment”.
Mr Mwendakawa added that technology alone cannot guarantee successful programme implementation and highlighted the importance of stakeholder participation in validating business processes, identifying operational gaps, and ensuring that the system adequately supports programme objectives before full deployment.
“Through the User Acceptance Testing process, stakeholders will gain practical experience with the system, build confidence in its use, and contribute to refining operational processes that will ultimately improve service delivery to communities,” He said.
Mr Mwendakawa further stated that the successful implementation of the coordinated UAT exercise will contribute to a smooth, efficient, and sustainable nationwide rollout of the Cash for Work Management Information System.
The engagement was attended by various stakeholders, including council staff, data entry clerks and members of Ward Development Committees (WDCs).
